PRS tackles indoor pool leak

A leak from an indoor pool at a home in South Kensington, London was creating significant water loss and considerable cost to the customer in water bills as well as heating, maintenance and water treatment chemicals.

Pipe Restoration Services was contacted to investigate the extent and location of the leak and offer a solution. Access points to the skimmer line were identified and the route of the pipework traced under the pool surround using specialized electronic tracing equipment.

This allowed the certified ePIPE technician to establish both the position of the pipe and its depth below the surface. This was followed by an extensive internal camera inspection of the pipe and a pressure test to establish the extent of the damage to the pipe, the size of the leak or leaks and the suitability of the proposed ePIPE solution.

Following approval of the proposal, PRS was asked to quickly re-establish on site and deliver the ePIPE in-place solution to fix the leak. The process involved operations to dry and clean the pipe work, collecting all cleaning material and dust in specially engineered vacuum equipment, ensuring a dust free and clean environment.

The pipe was then coated and leaks sealed from the poolside into the plant room using our engineered ePIPE epoxy lining material and patented process.

On completion of the curing process a pressure test was applied to the system verifying no loss in pressure and proving that all leaks had been sealed.

The ePIPE solution not only delivered a significant cost saving over traditional methods such as repair or re-pipe but was also less disruptive. This project was completed in only 3 days.
