ePipe seals leaking pool pipe in 17th century Hampshire home

Problem

An estimated 5,000 litres of water was being lost every day, through at least one leak. Not only was the lost water costing the homeowner, but they were also faced with additional heating and pool maintenance costs.

Conventional repair of the leak would have meant tearing up quality internal finishes in the pool area, at considerable cost and inconvenience, to replace or repair the faulty pipe.

Solution

Pipe Restoration Services was contacted to provide a modern solution and repair the leaking pipe utilising ePIPE’s patented technology.

Steps taken in the repair process included:

  • Identifying access points to the skimmer line and estimating the route of the pipe work under the pool surround
  • Pressure check the system for leaks
  • Isolate the skimmer line
  • Dry and prepare the pipe work for ePIPE lining material. Any loose debris created during the preparation/pipe cleaning process was collected in our specially designed filters
  • Application of the barrier/leak sealing coating into the piping system
  • On completion of the short 2 hrs curing process a final pressure test was applied to the system which showed no loss in pressure

The project was completed in just 2 days with no excavation or cutting into the finished area of the pool.

Customer Mr. C.Ward said: “Compared with the alternative of an extensive, messy, disruptive and lengthy excavation process, the PRS ePipe solution was nothing short of a miracle! The friendly team worked quickly and efficiently, and our pool is now back to normal.”
